On July 7, Xiaopeng Motors officially listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The issue price was 165 Hong Kong dollars per share and the opening price was 168 Hong Kong dollars. It became the first stock of smart electric vehicles in the Hong Kong stock market.
Just two days after Xiaopeng completed its listing, the Xiaopeng G3i was officially launched today, with a starting price of only 149,800 yuan. If you put it together with the G3 three years ago, you might not have thought that the G3i is just a mid-term facelift.
The biggest upgrade, in an invisible place
It can also be seen from the color that the target group of Xiaopeng G3i is very young. Its main color scheme is the young niche "sky turquoise", with a white roof and multiple brand new sports wheels, making the overall youthful.
Not only that, but the hidden door handle reduces wind resistance, but also adds a sense of future to the G3i.
If you are careful, you may find that the 360° panoramic camera on the roof of the Xiaopeng G3 has been removed.
In this regard, Xiaopeng explained that the use rate of this camera is relatively low, but it has a higher cost, so this design was cancelled, thereby reducing the BOM cost of the vehicle.
Pull open the hidden door handle and enter the car. At that moment, you may be a little disappointed: there is no upgrade at all.
That's right, the interior design of Xiaopeng G3i is basically the same as that of G3. The only difference is that Xiaopeng has added a contrasting color design to G3i, which implements the policy of youthfulness from the shape to the interior.
But in fact, Xiaopeng has brought us upgrades in many invisible places.
In terms of car and machine, Xiaopeng replaced the Texas Instruments J6 chip on the G3 with the Snapdragon 820A. Thanks to the performance improvement, the full-scenario voice function on Xiaopeng P7 has also come to G3i, and the instructions we can think of, the assistant "Little P" can basically be completed.
In addition, Xiaopeng G3i has also added many comfort configurations, such as a very big improvement in the seat: Nappa leather seats, seat heating, seat ventilation, and electric seat adjustments.
Not only that, G3i also supports functions such as remote air conditioning control, smart car search, and electric tailgate. This series of configurations greatly improves the user's car experience.
Imagine if you don’t have these configurations: you walked out of the mall with a big bag and a small bag in a hot summer day, walked around in a huge parking lot before you found your car, and tossed everything in. In the trunk, sit in the hot and stuffy driving seat. At the moment you close the car door, you are almost suffocated and turn on the air conditioner to its maximum, trying to squeeze a bit of coolness from the narrow air outlet.
The overall optimization of the driving experience is the biggest upgrade of Xiaopeng G3i.
It is worth mentioning that Xiaopeng has added a V2L external discharge function to G3i. This function may not be useful in normal times, but if you like to go camping in the suburbs with three or five friends on weekends, Xiaopeng G3i will be a good "large portable power bank."
Charging is not a problem
When it comes to "charging", it is natural to talk about the cruising range.
Compared with G3, the battery life of Xiaopeng G3i has not changed. It is also divided into two versions, 460km NEDC and 520km NEDC.
It should be noted that the 460km NEDC version may use lithium iron phosphate batteries. In low temperature environments, the cruising range of this battery will be greatly reduced. Friends living in the north may want to pay attention.
Although there is not much upgrade in the battery, the cruising range of Xiaopeng G3i is still very sufficient for urban mobility, and Xiaopeng currently has a relatively large charging network.
We learned in Xiaopeng’s prospectus that as of March 31 this year, Xiaopeng had 172 super charging stations nationwide, covering 60 cities, with an average of 6 to 7 super charging stations. A super charging pile with a peak output power of 120 kilowatts.
Therefore, for Xiaopeng car owners, the problem of "difficult charging" is basically not encountered.
In addition, when you use the navigation service on the Xmart OS car loading system of Xiaopeng G3i, in addition to providing the location of the charging station, the system will also display the estimated remaining power after reaching the destination on the screen, so that It’s commendable for the owner to plan the itinerary.
About "autonomous driving"
Many people used to think that if a car has a screen, being able to access the Internet is intelligent.
On July 7, at the launch ceremony of Xiaopeng Motors, Xiaopeng Motors founder He Xiaopeng said in an interview with the media.
From today's perspective, the "main body" of a smart car is not the car-machine system, but "autonomous driving." In this regard, Xiaopeng G3i is relatively conservative.
Xiaopeng G3i still uses the front monocular camera and three millimeter-wave radars to realize the XPILOT automatic driving assistance system, which supports the recognition of lane lines, pedestrians and vehicles, but it still exists with the NGP automatic navigation assisted driving on the P7. There is a big gap.

But considering its price, everything becomes reasonable:
- The 460km NEDC version is divided into 460G and 460N models, priced at 149,800 and 172,800 respectively;
- The 520km NEDC version is divided into two models, 520G and 520 N, priced at 165,800 and 185,800 respectively.
From Spring and Autumn to Warring States Period
At the end of last year, Xiaopeng brought the G3 to Norway and started small sales. This is Xiaopeng's attempt to globalize. But for new car-making forces like Xiaopeng, with Tesla before and major traditional car companies behind, it is naturally not an easy task to launch a good product under global supervision and policies. .
But this is indeed the direction Xiaopeng is working on. From G3i to P7, Xiaopeng’s current smart electric vehicles have covered the price range of 150,000 to 400,000 yuan. The benefits of this have been reflected in sales: Xiaopeng Motors delivered 5,686 vehicles in May, an increase over the same period last year. 483%.
Xiaopeng Motors vice chairman Gu Hongdi said that after Xiaopeng became the first stock of smart electric vehicles in the Hong Kong stock market, its financing funds will be mainly used for research and development, technological construction, and the promotion of international industries. At the same time, the attitude of seizing market opportunities and increasing investment is also one of the essential elements of Xiaopeng's foothold in the smart electric vehicle industry.
"Everyone is stocking grain and grass today, and industry competition has entered the Warring States Period from the Spring and Autumn Period." He Xiaopeng said. The Xiaopeng G3i, which has a great price advantage, is the disruptor of the warring states era.
