Google has officially welcomed Android 11 , the new version of the OS that we will gradually see debut with Xiaomi as well . Several companies have worked alongside Google, including Lei Jun’s, in order to accelerate its spread in the Android mobile landscape. In addition to Xiaomi and Redmi, OPPO, OnePlus, Vivo and Realme are also among the first companies to have embraced the new green robot firmware. Here are all the news from Google introduced with Android 11 that we will see with Xiaomi
Notifications and messaging
One of the main novelties of Android 11 on Xiaomi concerns notifications , with a new organization of the way in which they are managed by the OS. In the canonical drop-down they are now divided by categories, with a chronology of those received and the possibility of canceling even the persistent ones. The messaging chats are grouped in the Conversations tab, making it easier to have an eye on the messages received. We can also decide to prioritize the chats that we consider most important, in order to always display them at the top of the list.
A big change, again for the messages, concerns the introduction of the so-called Bubbles . As already happened with Facebook Messenger, chats can take the form of a floating window , being able to be reduced and moved around the screen, favoring multitasking without having to close running apps. In this regard, if you would like to get a very first taste of the aesthetics of Android 11, you can do it with Nova Launcher .
Speaking of messages, with the keyboard of Android 11 it was Smart Answers , a deeper prediction than text. When we receive a message, we are provided with a selection of short sentences ready to be selected quickly with a click. The suggestions have also been expanded to the most used apps: the system provides a row of 5 icons at the bottom of the home screen, in order to quickly have the ones we use most quickly at hand. Furthermore, by joining in the home with multiple apps of the same category, a folder will be created with an ad hoc name based on the genre of the apps put together.
Security and home automation
Speaking of privacy and security, in Android 11 it is possible to grant permissions once and not necessarily in a perennial way. In order to further safeguard users, permissions are automatically revoked after a few months of inactivity.
The novelties of Android 11 also concern the IoT system. Holding down the Power button opens a new menu, completely redesigned to accommodate home automation controls . In this way, you have a dedicated screen from which you can control lamps, locks, appliances and so on.
Multimedia and more
In the intention of grouping more elements, in Android 11 multimedia controls are added in the notification curtain. Just lower it with a swipe down to manage the content being played. In addition to being able to play and pause, the convenience consists in being able to move the audio stream from the smartphone to devices connected via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi with a click. Not to mention that now Android Auto becomes wireless , without the need to operate via cable.
Other features found in Android 11 are the Bluetooth that does not turn off with the Airplane mode , being able to fix your favorite apps in the sharing menu or the Dark Theme that can be activated based on the time. Also worth mentioning is the introduction natively in the OS of screen recording, even if in MIUI it has already been present for some time.
