vivo S7e Picture Tour: Lightweight and “clear”, 5G and “parity”
Vivo's S series are the best-selling models offline and online, and its positioning is quite clear.
Entering the 5G era, the vivo S7 released in September and the protagonist of this article, the vivo S7e, are completely different from the "heavy" of the flagship phones. They return to the light and thin features of 4G mobile phones. At the same time, they also support 5G full Netcom and 4100mAh large battery, so that 5G No longer "anxious".
Vivo S7e is comparable to S7 in size and weight, with a thickness of about 7.5mm and a weight of about 170g, which makes S7e a little "unreal" in the hand.
This feeling is not caused by poor workmanship, but the "conflict" brought by the weight of 170g and the 6.44-inch screen, and the "contradiction" brought by the expectations and reality of the large-screen mobile phone. It seems that in the 5G era, it is a "luxury desire" for mobile phones to have a thin and light feel, but fortunately, many 5G products have begun to work hard in the direction of "lightweight".
I really hope that this "light and thin" feel can return to the flagship product. After all, the weight of the "small half catty", even if the "little finger" can bear it, your shorts may have different opinions.
While maintaining a thin and light feel, the vivo S7e has a built-in 4100mAh lithium battery, and with MediaTek’s 7nm Dimensity 720 processor, it can be used for about two days in mild to moderate use.
Vivo S7e supports 33W flash charging and comes with a charging head in the package. In addition, it also comes with wired earphones, a protective case, and the original film (attached). Although it may not be "environmentally friendly", it is very easy to use. Comfortable.
The vivo S7e is similar to the S7. Both are equipped with a water drop shaped screen. The difference is that the S7e is a single camera, and the "water droplets" on the screen are smaller. At the same time, due to cost constraints, the screen still has a chin.
The screen material of vivo S7e is AMOLED, the resolution is 2400×1080, and it supports HDR 10, which is a little higher than the S7 series.
The back design style of the vivo S7e is relatively close to that of the S7, and the camera model is raised as a whole, and with the Ambilight back cover, it can be regarded as an orthodox design style in recent price comparisons. The official has designed three color schemes for vivo S7e, "Phantom Sand Star Sea", "Silver Moon" and "Black Mirror.
This time, I started with "Fantasy Sand Star Sea", which should be the main offline and online color scheme. The white on the top of the camera slowly transitions to blue-violet, and it will show a multi-layered texture under different color temperatures. Compared to the other two color schemes, the magic sand star sea feels like "Ambilight" with a matte texture, which is not easy to contaminate fingerprints and oil.
The camera module design style of vivo S7e does not continue the stacking style of X50 series and S7, but the more common "one for two", a 64-megapixel main camera, with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle macro lens and a A 2-megapixel depth-of-field camera, the hardware specifications are similar to the vivo S7.
The 64-megapixel main camera of the vivo S7e is a "four-in-one" by default, which turns into an outsole sensor to output 16-megapixel photos and supports dual format output of RAW and JPEG, leaving a certain amount of space for creative users. In addition, the 64 million pixel output mode is placed in the secondary menu and needs to be called separately for each use.
▲ Left: Default settings of the main camera. Right: Main camera night scene mode. (The scene is darker than the picture on the left, but the first look on the picture on the right is better. If the light is darker, the night scene mode will have more room to play.)
Vivo’s S7e official page focuses on the rear-mounted "Super Night Scene" function, which uses "RAW domain noise reduction + multi-level exposure fusion technology" to present a better night scene. In real shots, under night lights, the details of the dark parts can indeed be improved through multi-level exposure, and the overall picture is brighter and more eye-catching. (But in terms of personal preference, when there is a light source, I still prefer the default shooting mode, and the photos appear more textured.)
The vivo S7e is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 720 mid-range processor. In daily situations, it is difficult to notice the difference from Qualcomm 765G, or even insensible. Comparing the specification tables of S7e and S7, the obvious difference is that S7e supports one more n28A 5G frequency band than S7. n28A is the exclusive frequency band of 5G, which means that S7e is ready, and it is waiting for the commercialization of 5G. It may provide a more cost-effective 5G commercial package. I believe it should not be too long. (Of course, for ordinary consumers, this feature can almost be ignored now, after all, the eight characters have not yet been written.)
Back to the beginning, vivo's S series is not a "leapfrog". The S7 and S7e released on the front and rear feet do not have high brushes, high power charging, and no flagship processors. They have a thin and light body that supports 5G, unique design elements, and the camera tuned by the blue factory (especially the front-facing, if you have used it), and the price that can impress offline consumers.
The combination of these elements makes the selling points of vivo S7e and vivo S7 clear and clear.
