There is a lot of worry every time you log on to the internet and wonder if you can surf safely. Even less literate people, in this sense, know that surfing online can expose us to a series of dangers that should not be underestimated. Every time we surf the net, we leave traces that can be intercepted and used against us . Let's talk about sensitive data. This is why the need to protect themselves and avoid surprises has grown more and more. But then is it possible to surf in total safety? One solution would be to use a VPN. Let's see what it is.
VPN – here's what to know
You've probably heard of it before, but you may not know exactly what it is. When we talk about VPN we mean nothing more than a virtual private network (Virtual Private Network), which allows us to filter all our information while we surf the net, protecting them from any malicious people. Services such as VPN Italy that allow us to ensure maximum protection while we are online , protecting us from any hacker attacks.
VPNs have spread very significantly in recent years. This is because attacks by cybercriminals on the network have spread, affecting individuals and institutions, and then because people have begun to understand the dangers they can face. If until a few years ago there was much less awareness of the risks, today things are very different. Users, even private users, try to protect themselves as best they can , and networks of this type are exceptionally useful and cheap.
VPN: operation and types
For correctness of information, it must be said that there are two different types of VPN networks. In the first case we have remote access networks, which allow a connection through a private network server to the internet; and then we have site-to-site VPN networks, which instead allow you to connect to a private network with a router .
The general functioning of VPNs is not complex. These connections are able to encrypt the traffic while surfing the net, in order to protect our data, including the IP. When we navigate, in fact, we leave traces that can be stolen by malicious people and then used against us. With VPNs, this problem is solved: data remains anonymous and undeciphered.
As we have already mentioned, the use of these types of networks is very wide. It is certainly used by many individuals, who do not need to have very particular technical knowledge to be able to use it. But not just to protect themselves, VPNs are particularly effective for private individuals for another reason as well. These allow you to bypass so-called geoblocking. What is it about? It is nothing more than a blocking of some content, in particular of websites, which is carried out in some countries . With a VPN network this problem is bypassed.
And then there are the companies. These find an enormous benefit in this type of technology, which has very low costs, and can be spread across the various locations of a company, ensuring maximum protection even in the case of smartworking.
