In April of this year, NIO announced the video of the second-generation automatic power replacement of the power station. NIO’s second-generation swap station adopts AVP automatic parking technology, which can automatically drive the vehicle into the battery swap platform and replace the battery in the vehicle within three minutes.

In August 2020, an Israeli start-up company Electreon Wireless paved the world's first "wireless charging highway" in Tel Aviv, Israel. This "wireless charging highway" is 2 kilometers long, between Tel Aviv University and the railway station, which can wirelessly charge electric vehicles in motion.

This "wireless charging highway" actually uses a copper coil system embedded in the asphalt to charge passing vehicles.

When the vehicle is driving along the road, these coils wirelessly transfer energy to the vehicle's battery through magnetic induction. Electreon Wireless claims that this "wireless charging road" can charge a moving Renault Zoe with 8.5 kilowatts of electricity, with a transmission efficiency of 91%, and will increase the charging power to 15 kilowatts in the future.

Not only small electric cars, Electreon Wireless also tested electric trucks in Gotland, Sweden, before testing in Tel Aviv. This 40-ton truck is equipped with five 20-kilowatt wireless modules.

In the test, the speed of the electric truck reached 60 kilometers per hour, and the average transmission speed from the road to the battery on the electric truck reached 70 kilowatts.

Until November 2020, Electreon Wireless has laid copper coils up to 4 kilometers long on the island of Gotland, which will provide charging services for the local electric airport shuttle.

After successfully testing the "Wireless Charging Highway" in Tel Aviv, Electreon Wireless also tried to change the roads across Europe. According to the current plan of Electreno Wireless, the next "wireless charging road" will appear in northern Italy.
