PS5: the first opinions and reviews on the Sony console sold out
One week after its launch, the PS5, the Sony console that sold out in a very short time , has already collected many opinions from the lucky ones who have been able to try it. On November 19th, Amazon's online stores and electronic stores were flooded with an exaggerated volume of requests, which caused endless queues for access to the site and malfunctions.
The wait for the next-gen console was really great, and the pandemic has perhaps contributed to the bulk purchase. The exclusives for the PS5 then have done nothing but increase the expectations of gamers.

But how is the console performing? Did it really meet expectations? Have the price and the effort of the purchase paid off?
PS5: opinions on the new Sony console
The PS5, with its futuristic design and slender lines, is defined by all as "bulky". The classic console weighs 4.5kg, while the digital one 3.9kg . Double that of the PS4: the previous console weighed only 2.1kg. The dimensions have also increased, reaching 39 × 10.4 × 26 cm (the slightly thinner digital version). The 40 cm in height certainly does not make it go unnoticed.

As for the fluidity of the game and the silence of the console, the opinions are generally very positive: the PS5 is not noisy, and therefore allows an excellent gaming experience . In terms of consumption, excellent results are obtained when idle or during navigation, while during real gaming, rather high peaks are reached.
Unfortunately for Sony, the first reports of defects arrived, even if it could have been expected for the first models. Among the reported problems is coil whine , also known as "coil pin or whine". This is an annoying noise emitted by some electronic components which, when crossed by the current, generate a vibration. The component causing this nuisance has not yet been precisely identified.
Some users have instead reported the presence of some dark spots on the body , which would have formed following gaming sessions. Also in this case it is not yet certain of the origin of the problem, but it is probably a manufacturing defect that would make the plastic sensitive to temperature changes .

In addition to these, problems have emerged related to downloading games, both new and backward compatible. In the first case , there were blocks in the download which can only be resolved by canceling the operation and repeating it; in the second case, some titles have reported bugs, crashes and licensing errors.
PS5 success
There is currently no official data on PS5 sales numbers. If it is true that it sold out in a very short time, it is also true that the total number of consoles available at launch is not yet known to the public. The only data we have are those of the Japanese market: from 9 to 15 November Sony sold almost 120 thousand pieces , of which only 14 thousand in digital version. A much higher number than that of the new X Boxes , which have sold a total of only 20 thousand units.
Has the pandemic really helped the numbers rise? According to Sony CEO Jim Ryan, that's not the case. Confirming that the new console is completely sold out , he also said that the thing would have happened even in the absence of the coronavirus.
“ The way we brought it to market could have been slightly different, but the end result would have been the same. We might have had more to sell, but not many; the guys on the production / manufacturing side worked wonders. "

Despite the difficulties that limited the pre-launch events and meetings, and the fact that it suspended the sale in physical stores, the Sony console has achieved the hoped-for success . Thanks to the new hardware, exclusive games and attractive design the PS5 has drawn worldwide attention to itself from the very beginning. Now it will be time to tell us if the expectations will really be met.
