How many times, having arrived at a restaurant or a clinic, have you had to fill out a form to facilitate the national tracking of infections ? Each facility has to handle piles of paper that take up too much space and risk being lost or damaged. To overcome the problem, a young Italian developer has created NotificaCovid, a portal that facilitates and automates customer registrations and the tracking of infections from Covid-19.
Andrea Ghezzi, 24 years old from Guidonia, has decided to eliminate the problems related to paper and the use of paper and pen, which are still used by many people. In two months he created Notificacovid, a free web application that tracks customers ' activities for 14 days. Goodbye forms, goodbye paper management: the whole process is fully automated.
NotificaCovid: how to register
First, it is important to underline that NotificaCovid is not a mobile app, but a we b portal . No need to download an application, therefore: simply connect to the site, register your activity and begin user registration. For customers or in general for local visitors it is sufficient to enter a few data online to access the structure.
To register an activity or structure, the owner has to do is browse the NotificaCovid portal and enter their data. All you need is the name and surname of the owner, the telephone number (own or business), the name and location of the place and any VAT number. The manager can possibly specify whether table service is provided.
Once you have created your profile, the portal will generate a unique QR code for the activity, to be shared with customers . For them it will be sufficient to scan it to access a web page and register, providing name, surname, telephone and email. These data are essential for the correct tracking of infections from Covid-19, as they are used to notify the customer of a possible positive case notified to the owner.
In addition to the registration form, businesses can share menus or posters in the QR code data. Customers, after entering their data, are able to access this additional information about the facility in which they are located. With this NotificaCovid feature it allows the centralization of both the tracking of infections and the management of the activity , facilitating and speeding up both.
Has a customer tested positive? Send notification!
If someone who has attended the facility is positive for Covid-19, the manager can send a notification to all users who have registered on the portal (and therefore have attended the premises) on the same day as the positive customer. The owner has a table with all customer contact information. For the eventual sending of the notification it will be sufficient to tick the records of users potentially in danger of contagion and send the communication.
Notification is via email, and users who have received the report can contact the business if they need further information. The identity of the positive person is obviously kept anonymous .
Tracking infections from Covid-19: dashboard and privacy
Each business has a personal dashboard available to monitor its progress. Here you will find information on the number of registered users in the last month, together with an annual summary graph and data relating to the permanence of customers. These show the percentage of customers registered for 1-5 days, 6-10 days and 11-14 days. The data can be exported as PDF or as Excel if needed.
As far as privacy is concerned, don't be afraid: user data is only available to the manager of the activity , exactly as happens for information shared with paper forms. NotificaCovid also deletes customer data after 14 days and permanently , as required by the law decree of May 16. The information is in fact kept only to monitor infections, and is not shared with any other system.
Notification Covid is an excellent ally for the tracking of infections from Covid-19, facilitating the work of managers of activities and premises. If it were used correctly and consistently, it could prove to be a concrete help in the fight against the coronavirus: streamlining the management of tracing, it could encourage many more activities to collaborate in monitoring the infections. We at Tech wish Andrea Ghezzi our best wishes and we hope that his idea will be appreciated by many!
