Less than 100,000 yuan! BYD Qin L and Seal 06 were released on the same stage, with fuel consumption prefixed with “2” and can run 2000KM

In December 2008, the world's first plug-in hybrid vehicle, the BYD F3DM, rolled off the mass production line in Xi'an BYD High-tech Industrial Park, and the concept of "short-distance electricity use and long-distance oil use" was born.

But at that time, due to the immaturity of engine technology, the NEDC of the first-generation DM technology used by F3DM had a power deficit of 10.7L and a fuel consumption of 10.7L, and the engine thermal efficiency was only 34%.

Today, 16 years later, also in Xi'an, BYD has upgraded its DM technology to the fifth generation, setting a record low in fuel consumption per 100 kilometers.

Along with the implementation of this new technology, there are also BYD's two new B-class sedans, Qin L DM-i and Seal 06 DM-i, both priced at 99,800-139,800 yuan.

Let’s take a look at Qin L DM-i first.

Compared with Qin PLUS DM-i, the higher-positioned Qin L DM-i has a larger body size, with a length of more than 4.8 meters, a width of 1.9 meters, and a wheelbase of 2790mm.

The increase in body size has brought two benefits. First, the cabin space has been significantly increased, especially the width of the rear row, which makes it more comfortable for three people to ride. Second, the proportion of the body has become much slender, and the weight on the Qin PLUS has improved. weaken.

Qin L DM-i also uses a new family design, with a more refined shape and a very three-dimensional side profile.

At the same time, its color matching is also more modern, with four colors: citrine gray, aquamarine green, jianyao purple, and moist jade white.

The design style of the Seal 06 DM-i is completely different, a little less majestic and a little more agile, and the wheels and taillights are also younger than the Qin L. In terms of size, its width is 25mm smaller than that of the Qin L, and other data remains the same.

Before tonight's press conference, I got into two new cars for a brief experience. The interior layouts of the two cars are exactly the same, but the design styles are different. See the picture below for details.

What’s hard to show in pictures is the texture and comfort.

Yes, it’s hard to believe that I would now use “quality” to describe BYD. Compared with previous models from Dynasty.com and Haiyang.com, the interiors of Qin L and Seal 06 have been significantly improved, especially in terms of materials. You can pay attention to Check out the dashboard, door panels, and seats.

Although there is still a lot of room for improvement, BYD has made great progress.

Let’s talk about the general configuration. Both cars use an 8.8-inch floating LCD instrument. The central control screen is available in 12.8-inch and 15.6-inch sizes depending on the configuration. The vehicle has a built-in NFC digital key and original ETC.

High-end models will also provide configurations such as electric adjustment, seat ventilation and heating, and be equipped with the DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system.

Finally comes their highlight, the power part.

Both Qin L DM-i and Seal 06 DM-i are equipped with a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 1.5L engine and an electric motor. The maximum power of the engine is 74kW and the maximum torque is 126N·m. The data is mediocre, but don’t forget its Motor——

The low-end model uses a 120kW motor with a torque of 210N·m; the high-end model has a motor with a maximum power of 160kw and a maximum torque of 260N·m, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 mph in 7.5 seconds.

The battery is also different. The low-end version has a 10.08kWh battery, which provides 80km of CLTC pure electric range; the high-end version has a 15.874kWh battery, which has a CLTC pure electric range of 120km.

But let me tell you, with the NEDC operating range of 2.9L per 100 kilometers, unless there is a home charging pile, it can be used directly as a pure fuel vehicle.

In order to demonstrate the extremely low fuel consumption of the fifth-generation DM, Lu Tian, general manager of BYD Dynasty Sales Division, conducted a "BOSS direct test".

With the battery SoC at 15%, the air conditioner turned on automatic mode and set to 24°C, kinetic energy recovery set to standard, and the driving mode adjusted to ECO, Lutian drove a 2.4L car with a loss of 100 kilometers during the evening rush hour in Xi'an. Electric fuel consumption.

The main thing to point out is that this is a result measured by the refueling method, which is close to the real fuel consumption.

Even more exaggerated is the cruising range.

Wang Chuanfu, chairman of BYD, mentioned at the press conference that the comprehensive range of the fifth-generation DM technology reaches 2,100km, which is actually much more than that.

Six QinL and Seal 06 vehicles set out from Xi'an with full fuel and electricity to start the endurance test. 90% of the test sections were highways. In the end, the six vehicles arrived in the three cities of Hami, Changchun and Shenzhen respectively. , achieving a minimum range of 2327.7km and a maximum range of 2547km.

Fully fueled and fully charged, a real range of 2,000 kilometers.

BYD also calculated a bill for you at the press conference:

Suppose you run 20,000 kilometers a year, the average oil price is 8.4 yuan/liter, and the average fuel consumption is 7L per 100 kilometers. The total cost of a fuel vehicle is 11,760 yuan.

But for Qin L and Seal 06, you don’t need to drive so sparingly, just drive at 2.9L per 100 kilometers, which only costs 4872 yuan a year, saving 6888 yuan compared with fuel vehicles.

Not to mention that the acceleration is too slow and the control is too bad. In the face of this fuel consumption and battery life, it is pure nonsense.
