“Intuition” told me that this candy will be very promising
On December 18th, Guangzhou Future News Agency held the fourth Aifaner Candy Fair. This time, Vivo and Aifaner presented a carnival of great artistic products for the tech fans offline. In line with the slogan "A good product is a candy", Aifaner launched a candy club, so that friends can gather together to suck candy and taste the sweetness of good products in our lives.
In this issue of Ai Faner Sugar Fair, the dual protagonist lineup is used for the first time. One is the flagship mobile phone series just released by vivo, the vivo X60 series mobile phone, and the other is the OriginOS system seen after lighting the X60 screen. Around these two protagonists, we present a feast of vision and thought for everyone.
Move the virtual digital world to reality
Today’s Future News Agency, although it is a Friday working day, the crowds are bustling and the pace is non-stop. There are guests who come to the appointment, there are vivo fans who have heard and heard, and there are also passersby who are attracted by the event notice. The weather is also swept The day before yesterday was hazy, revealing the blue sky and the white day, which resembled the images on the on-site art installation, and felt more immersive.
The main venue for the event is located on the fourth floor. After signing in, guests and fans head straight to the main venue.
There is a door to a new world. This door is connected between the real world and the OriginOS digital world. The new experience of combining virtual and reality brought by the new system lies behind this door.
After entering the door, flowers from OriginOS walked out of the phone screen and appeared in the eyes of everyone.
Many friends may have seen this design in an article called " I want to open ". Using the movement of flowers in the real world to show the monotonous numerical change of the number of steps is intuitive and beautiful. Similar designs can be seen everywhere in OriginOS.
By the way, that screen-scrolling article was written by Ai Faner and Vivo.
Another example is the scenery behind this window, from the first appearance of white light at sunrise to the deep night after sunset. Although the time is not marked with numbers, one can judge the approximate time at this moment by looking at the "time window". Up.
In the real world, whether it is the classic Braun product design or the unconscious design of Fukasawa Naoto, all human intuitions are mapped into the design, and all actions happen naturally.
The same design idea is used by OriginOS in mobile phones. After all, one of the most commonly used objects today is mobile phones, and our interaction with mobile phones depends entirely on the operating system on the screen.
As the guest Cha Xiaobao said at a later exchange meeting, "Mobile phones have become the middle point between the real world and the digital world."
The further deconstruction of OriginOS is the subject of the follow-up exchange meeting.
Reshaping the system: original design, design is original
The vivo X60 series design exchange activities held at 3 o'clock, invited many guests, including the vice president of Ai Faner Ping, the two designers Ge Yanan and Zhong Yu in the Origin Studio team, and Liu Wei, the co-founder of Dine Design Company, independent development The author Kevin, and senior game digital blogger Fork Xiaobao.
From their respective professional perspectives, everyone discusses the design of OriginOS together.
Before the exchange meeting, 10 real vivo X60 machines were provided on site for the friends to communicate with OriginOS. Before the experience, everyone was capturing the external beauty of the X60; after the experience, everyone discussed more about the soul of the X60, which is the system itself.
After getting started, everyone's understanding of OriginOS no longer flows to official instructions and online discussions, and many in-depth discussions on OriginOS were collided at the meeting. Everyone spoke freely and did not shy away.
Before the start of the salon communication session, the host played an introduction video taken by OriginOS for this new system, which also led to the three main points of the system: "Huarong Grid", "Atomic Components" and "Personalization".
As the cornerstone and framework for OriginOS to change the traditional mobile operating system, Huarong Grid has the function of allowing users to perform daily high-frequency functional interactions more quickly and simply.
As one of the most important elements of OriginOS, Huarong Grid was compared with the previous Windows Phone once it was launched.
Veteran Microsoft player Fork Xiaobao first throws an opinion
Windows Phone tiles will feel dull after a long time. You always want to change one, but you can only change the color, and change the small to medium or large.
The clock added, "I also feel that way, and what Windows Phone didn't do at the time was that the layout was not flexible enough, the wallpaper was not friendly enough, the design expression was relatively single, and the lack of powerful component capabilities."
Huarong Grid reconstructed the desktop layout, placing the core information of the App on the desktop level to display, reducing the path for users to view information, thereby improving the efficiency of information acquisition.
With Huarong Grid, users can put the App on the desktop as an artwork, not just an entrance.
Ge Yanan took the microphone and explained.
In order to achieve controllable design language, Origin Studio went out and communicated with mainstream App developers, and finally achieved such a high degree of completion, using familiar image elements to deconstruct and redraw.
All apps on the desktop don't have a name displayed, but you can find the app you want to enter as soon as you look at the icon. This is effortless. This is the magic of intuitive design.
Highly condensed, breaking the information barrier
The second element of OriginOS, the atomic component, not only displays important information, but also refines the daily high-frequency use functions of users in the App, and uses them in a more intuitive and direct way.
As a fan of Microsoft products, Kevin is also a developer who uses Apple products for programming. After experiencing OriginOS on the spot, he said:
Some systems have tried to personalize desktop components before, but unfortunately they did not display the core information that users need, and did not break the information barrier.
Indeed, OriginOS has absorbed past experience and incorporated more thinking about user experience, rather than just making the original Widget widgets more personalized. Intuitively present the information required by the user, and provide a variety of interaction methods such as gestures and voice, making the atomic component more practical and fun.
Seeing that the atmosphere of exchanges began to be enthusiastic, everyone was more relaxed, and Ping raised a question that everyone wanted to ask:
It was officially upgraded to iOS14 in September. Even the iPhone is DIY. We found that it has a 2×2, 4×2 size design, and OriginOS also has it. What is the reason for the similarities between the two?
Ge Yanan took the initiative and responded:
Before iOS14 appeared, our design plan had already come out, but it was a bit awkward in time. As the most important first visual carrier, what is the future of the desktop? How should it be presented? I believe that not only us, but the iOS team may also be considering this issue three to five years ago.
There are also some interesting points. At the meeting, Zhong Yu mentioned the concept of "timeline", which is reflected in the fact that after users get started with OriginOS, they will find that when more and more sticky notes are recorded in their mobile phones, the corner of the sticky notes icon will be up. One point; when there are more files, the file management icons will have a few more transparent interlayers. This is not only the embodiment of intuitive design, but also the concept of timeline.
Think about the changes in the real world of old and new objects: yellowing, creases, warping, oxidation, etc.
If it weren’t artificial, similar changes wouldn’t happen in the digital world. It was the Origin Studio team that brought the timeline concept to this system so that we could see these subtle changes in the phone, the things on the screen, All become alive.
The last element of OriginOS, personalization, runs through every corner of the entire system.
Return autonomy to users.
Introducing the concepts of "deformer" and "interaction pool", providing custom options such as windows, styles, operation gestures, and navigation methods. The appearance of the system has been increased by hundreds of different combinations, so that users can use vivo in the future. You can enjoy creativity and inspiration on your mobile phone, but this kind of personalization does not need to be described in complex interactions or incomprehensible text. For example, the "interaction pool" uses the most intuitive and WYSIWYG way to satisfy users Personalized needs make personalization visible and tangible.
In order to give full play to the advantages of the first vision of the main screen, we integrate these complex settings and personalized content, and present them at the first level in the simplest way. All operations and settings are visible in real time.
"This is the design thinking logic behind deformers and interaction pools," Ge Yanan further added.
When the mobile phone hardware is gradually homogenized, vivo hopes to differentiate at the system level. Taking this opportunity, vivo rethinks the interaction between the digital world and the real world, and uses the mobile phone platform to connect people and the digital world.
The most visible ones are "Behavior Wallpaper" and "Sky Window". Recalling what Ping said at the beginning of the sharing session,
.It seems that people are often so busy that they forget to communicate with the real world, and the time they spend facing various screens every day far exceeds the time to interact with the world.
The sky window breaks the dimensional wall of the virtual and real world. To borrow Ping, it is
through this design,Vivo created OriginOS as the protagonist at today's meeting based on careful observation of digital life. And in order to let more people understand this new system, there is this sugar meeting.
In fact, this session of the Sugar Conference took a long time, but the time passed quickly. Amidst the collision of different views among the guests, it quietly ended. All the friends who have experienced OriginOS on the X60 on the spot hope that this system can be pushed to the vivo phone as soon as possible to experience its charm in depth.
After all, a good product is just a piece of sugar that people want to taste after they taste it.
I look forward to seeing you again in the next sugar meeting.
