BYD raises prices of some models

BYD issued a statement on Wednesday morning, saying that it will adjust the prices of related new energy models of Dynasty, Ocean and Denza, with an increase ranging from 2,000 yuan to 6,000 yuan. The price adjustment notice for specific models will be released separately.

BYD explained that the price adjustment is due to the fact that the new energy purchase subsidy policy will end on December 31, 2022, and since the second half of the year, the prices of main raw materials for batteries have risen sharply.

However, those who want to buy a car don't need to worry. BYD stated that customers who paid a deposit to sign a contract before January 1, 2023 will not be affected by the price adjustment.

Tesla cuts prices for sales, BYD: If you don’t buy it, the price will increase.

FF released its Q3 financial report, saying that it will soon announce the delivery time of FF 91

On November 22, Beijing time, Faraday Future (FF) released its financial results for the third quarter of 2022.

The financial report shows that the company's operating loss in Q3 this year was approximately US$81 million, compared with US$186 million in the same period last year; the net loss decreased by approximately US$103 million, compared with US$304 million in the same period last year.

Dr. Breitfeld, FF's global CEO, said, "We have completed an important financing agreement and are confident that we can obtain the additional funds required for mass production delivery of FF 91."

He also said that the company is currently revising the new budget and production plan, and hopes to announce the delivery date of FF 91 to users in time after the funds are in place.

Extreme Krypton: Will not follow the trend to make price adjustments

Recently, a number of car companies have adjusted the prices of their new energy products. Regarding whether Jikr Auto will follow up and adjust the price, Zhao Yuhui, the vice president of Jikr, gave a negative answer:

In the face of complex changes in the market price system, Jikrypton will not follow suit and make price adjustments.

However, even if there are still subsidies now, the cheapest Jikrypton 001 (starting price of 299,000 yuan) of the Jikrypton brand, the total price will exceed 300,000 yuan if you add anything at the time of selection.

Changan Automobile: Boot ads do not affect daily use

Jiemian News reported on the 23rd that Changan Automobile has recently responded to the car owner's report that "the car system starts to play advertisements".

The staff of Changan Automobile's after-sales department said that it is normal for advertisements to appear. Compared with other companies, Changan's advertisements are shorter.

The staff member also said that the advertisement will hardly affect daily use, and there is no plan to modify it for the time being. If there are more users who report this problem, modifications may be considered.

In addition, @五环短视频 released a phone recording of Changan Automobile customer service responding to the boot advertisement on the 23rd. The customer service said, "The advertisement is to increase the sense of ceremony of the startup. This welcome page also has dates, blessings, etc.."

This reason has to be admired, life needs a sense of ritual, right?

Musk: South Korea is one of the preferred locations for Tesla's second factory in Asia

Musk said in a video call with the President of South Korea on November 23 that Tesla plans to build a second large-scale electric vehicle factory in Asia, and South Korea is one of the candidates.

During the dialogue, both parties showed a strong willingness to cooperate. Musk said that Tesla plans to strengthen cooperation with South Korea in the supply chain, and Yin Xiyue welcomed the landing of the Tesla factory.

In addition to South Korea, Indonesia also hopes to attract Tesla to build a local factory with its rich nickel resources.

Mazda will transition to electrification

On November 22, Mazda released its medium-term business plan and 2030 performance goals, and also updated their electrification strategy and planning.

Mazda's electrification plan is divided into three phases:

  1. Leverage technology assets consisting of multiple electrification technologies to achieve a reduced environmental footprint and produce attractive products
  2. Introduces its next-generation hybrid powertrain and first new electric vehicles in China, then advances to other markets
  3. Facilitate the full rollout of electric vehicles and consider investing in battery production

Mazda said that by 2030, the company will invest 1.5 trillion yen (about 75.75 billion yuan) in vehicle electrification, including the purchase of power batteries. Mazda expects EVs to account for 30%-40% of its total production by then.

In addition, the plan also shows that Mazda has reached a supply agreement with Envision Power to ensure a stable supply of power batteries while increasing the production of electric vehicles in Japan.

Talked a lot, but didn't say the specific time.

SAIC-GM will invest 70 billion yuan in electrification and intelligent networking

France allows cars to be filled with cooking oil

The French "Tribune" recently reported that the French Senate has approved the use of used cooking oil as vehicle fuel.

"Ecologists believe that with proper deslagging and filtration, 10 liters of waste cooking oil can yield 8 liters of fuel," the report said.

Experts emphasized that if a car uses waste cooking oil as fuel, its greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced by 90% compared with ordinary diesel vehicles. In addition, the price of waste cooking oil is much cheaper than ordinary fuel oil.

However, such fuel may only be available on certain models.

Baidu and Pony were approved to test autonomous driving with "people in the back" in Beijing

The Beijing Intelligent Connected Vehicle Policy Pioneering Zone recently issued the second-stage test permit for unmanned autonomous driving. Pony.ai and Baidu Apollo became the first batch of companies that were approved to test the qualification of "no one in the front row and people in the back row".

The above two companies will invest 10 unmanned vehicles in the 60-square-kilometer high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone in Beijing to carry out front-row unmanned road tests.

The unmanned road test management implementation rules promulgated last year divide the unmanned road test test into three stages: "passenger passenger", "rear passenger", and "outside remote".

According to the plan, in the "passenger passenger" stage, the company's cumulative test mileage must reach 10,000 kilometers before it can apply for the "rear passenger" test for vehicles with a single-vehicle test mileage of 1,000 kilometers.

In the stage of "people in the back row", the company's cumulative test mileage must reach 50,000 kilometers before it can apply for "off-board remote" testing for vehicles with a single-vehicle test mileage of 5,000 kilometers.

F1's 2023 Chinese Grand Prix may be canceled

In 2019, the World Formula One Championship was successfully held at the Shanghai International Circuit. This is the 1,000th Grand Prix since F1 started in 1950, which is of great significance. Unfortunately, due to the epidemic, the Chinese Grand Prix has been suspended since the 2019 season.

But what excites the fans is that in the F1 2023 calendar announced at the end of September this year, a five-star red flag appeared-the Chinese Grand Prix is scheduled for April as usual.

However, this time the fans' hopes may be dashed again.

Next year's Chinese Grand Prix will be cancelled, BBC Sport chief correspondent Andrew Benson said on Tuesday.

F1 chairman and CEO Stefano Domenicali has yet to officially call off the race, but the decision is seen as inevitable.

It is a pity that Zhou Guanyu will not have the opportunity to compete in his hometown next year.

Ford issues patent for roof airbags

Ford recently issued a very interesting patent for a roof air bag, a safety system that appears to be designed specifically for self-driving cars.

It can be seen from the patent drawing that the front and rear seats of the model to which this patent applies adopt a face-to-face layout, which will make the arrangement of airbags a challenge.

The way Ford came up with was to put the airbag on the roof.

They use interconnected cylindrical airbags to protect passengers, which Ford describes as an airbag with "alternating arrays of non-inflatable panels and inflatable chambers."

However, considering that fully autonomous driving is still far away from us, there are still infinite possibilities for the layout of airbags in the future. Do you have any ideas?

The author is a little busy, so I will write an introduction later.
