Tesla fined nearly 15 million yuan in South Korea for exaggerating mileage
Recently, the South Korean antitrust regulator stated that it will impose a fine of 2.85 billion won (about 15 million yuan) on Tesla. The reason is that Tesla did not inform customers that the range of their electric vehicles will be greatly reduced in low temperatures.
The Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) said in a statement that since August 2019 and until recently, Tesla has been exaggerating on its local website “the range of its cars on a single charge, the range compared to gasoline vehicles, Fuel cost-effectiveness, and supercharger performance.”
The KFTC also said Tesla's range in cold weather dropped by up to 50.5% compared to online advertising.

In this regard, the Hunan Provincial Automobile Chamber of Commerce first made an appeal:
- Request the China Automobile Dealers Association to interview the platform and ask it not to raise prices;
- Request the distribution association to regulate the development of the automobile network drainage platform, and jointly build a good market order.
According to Kuaidi Technology, after the current round of price increases, the number of car companies and dealers who directly choose to suspend cooperation is much larger than expected, including BYD, Volkswagen, BMW, Cadillac and other brands.

Is this the premium version of "Easy Access"?
According to Sina Technology, since 2020, chip design company ARM's automotive business revenue has more than doubled.
ARM's automotive business unit has been growing faster than other divisions such as smartphones and data centers, said Dennis Laudick, ARM's vice president of automotive product strategy. The division primarily powers everything from electrification to advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and in-vehicle "infotainment."
That's largely because modern cars require more chips, and those chips are more expensive than ever. A severe shortage of auto-related chips is expected this year due to strong demand.
"A high-end car has one of the most complex software systems in the world right now," Laudick said. "It's basically a data center on wheels."
He revealed that ARM currently holds about 85% of the global in-vehicle "infotainment" market and 55% of the ADAS market. The top 15 automotive chip makers, including Nvidia, STMicroelectronics and Renesas, use designs licensed from ARM.
In the next few years, it is expected that ARM will slam competitors such as Intel and MIPS in the automotive chip market, and it will be impossible to tell the winner in the short term.
